Bali Natural Tours · Ubud

Quad bike in the mud, then Tegenungan

About two hours on a quad bike through rice fields, bamboo and muddy creek beds, then a shower, lunch and, on the right option, an hour at Tegenungan and a walk in the Sangeh monkey forest. Pick it if a day of temples sounds slow and you want one stop with an engine.

ATV Quad Bike + Tegenungan Waterfall

About this experience

Bali Natural Tours runs the quad track, and the day is built around it. You suit up with helmet and boots, get a short briefing, then follow a guide on a single or tandem ATV past rice fields and bamboo, through mud, water and, guests report, a tunnel. The listing says approximately 2 hours of riding; one guest found the clock starts at gear-up, so the time actually moving is shorter. Then a shower (towels provided), a set-menu lunch and, guests report, a pool.

Six options, and they matter. Single or Tandem sets whether you ride alone or share; tandem bookings must come in even numbers (2, 4, 6 and so on), and every booking needs at least two people. Only the two "with Ubud Tour" options add the sightseeing: an hour at Tegenungan Waterfall and an hour at Sangeh Monkey Forest. The "without Ubud Tour" and "Without Hotel Transfer" options are the quad ride, lunch and, where stated, transfers. If Tegenungan is why you're here, pick a "with Ubud Tour" option.

The monkey forest is Sangeh, not Ubud's Sacred Monkey Forest. Sangeh is an old nutmeg forest about 40 minutes from central Ubud with more than 700 long-tailed macaques, and its own gate fee of IDR 75,000. The listing marks admission at both sightseeing stops as included. The $41 from-price is per person, the lowest figure across six options and group sizes; Viator's tiers mean a pair pays more each, and the "with Ubud Tour" options sit above the from-price. Check the exact price after picking date, option and riders.

The atv ride was fun, safety gear was provided and had lunch afterwards [...] next to the monkey forest all the monkeys there were friendly [...] and lastly the waterfall was really pretty and relaxing, you could just stand there looking at it for the entire duration

It was great fun riding the quad bikes through the mud and jungle and rice field and up the creek beds and through the tunnel. Cleaned up afterwards in the showers and had a nice lunch overlooking the gorge.

Marty the quad bike lead was great, and Candra our driver got us there and back safely in a comfy aircon car. Bring a change of clothes it gets muddy but a shower, swim in the pool and lunch is great.

ATV was fun and muddy. Monkey sanctuary was a beautiful site. The waterfall was very touristy and sadly there was trash around the place. Adi was our driver for the day and was fantastic.

Tips before you book

  • Pick a "with Ubud Tour" option, single or tandem. The others never reach Tegenungan.
  • Wear clothes you can throw away and bring a full change, plus swimwear for the pool or the falls.
  • Book early in the day; a guest's advice was to go in the morning, and the falls get busier after 11 am anyway.
  • Children aged 9 to 11 can only ride tandem with an adult, and tandem bookings need even numbers.
  • Lock jewellery and sunglasses away before Sangeh; the macaques grab loose things.

Frequently asked questions

Does the ATV tour go to Tegenungan Waterfall on every option?

No. Only the two "with Ubud Tour" options (single or tandem) include Tegenungan and Sangeh Monkey Forest, an hour each. The other four options are the quad ride, lunch and showers, with or without hotel transfers.

Is the monkey forest on this tour the Ubud Monkey Forest?

No, it's Sangeh, an old nutmeg forest about 40 minutes from central Ubud with more than 700 long-tailed macaques. It's quieter and has its own ticket (IDR 75,000 for adults), which the listing marks as included.

How much does it cost for two people?

More than $41 each. The $41 is the lowest per-person figure across six options and group sizes. A pair pays a higher tier, and the "with Ubud Tour" options cost more than the quad-only ones. Viator shows the exact price once you choose date, option and riders.

What is the minimum age for the quad bike?

12 to ride your own quad, up to age 70. Children aged 9 to 11 can ride tandem with an adult. Every booking needs at least two people, and tandem bookings go in even numbers.
