Tegenungan Waterfall entrance fee

The ticket at Tegenungan is cheap. The surprise is everything around it: four or five other gates on a typical Ubud day, a levy at the airport, and tour prices that only look low.

Tegenungan Waterfall charges IDR 30,000 per adult in 2026, about $2. Children pay half. That part is simple, and it hasn't changed much in years, though older blogs still quote IDR 15,000 to 20,000.

What trips people up is the rest of the bill. A day out to the waterfall usually also covers the Monkey Forest, Tegallalang and Tirta Empul, and each has its own booth. Then there are tours whose from-price leaves every one of those gates to you. Here is the full count, sourced from The Bali Guideline, Bali Holiday Secrets and the Viator listings themselves.

The quick answer

The Tegenungan ticket costs IDR 30,000 for adults and IDR 15,000 for children aged 5 to 9, cash only, at the main Kemenuh entrance. Parking is free or IDR 5,000 to 10,000. The Blangsinga side across the river sells its own ticket. On a full Ubud day the gates add up to about IDR 260,000 to 275,000 per adult, and the Bali levy of IDR 150,000 is always on top.

How much is the Tegenungan Waterfall entrance fee in 2026?

IDR 30,000 per adult and IDR 15,000 per child aged 5 to 9, paid in cash at the booth. That is roughly $2 and $1.

The fee is set by the village of Kemenuh, which runs the main entrance. It covers the walk down about 170 to 200 steps, the pool edge and the viewpoints. Everything else on site is run by somebody else and priced separately:

Nothing to pay at the booth: the jungle swing day covers every gate fee, Tegenungan included.

Is parking included at Tegenungan Waterfall?

Sometimes. Bali Holiday Secrets lists parking as free; other lots charge IDR 5,000 for a scooter and about IDR 10,000 for a car.

The main car park sits at the entrance off Jalan Ir. Sutami, at the top of the steps. Which lot you end up in decides whether you pay, and the sums are tiny. On a tour or with a driver it is rarely your problem: the private driver listing includes parking in its price, while the custom Ubud day is one of the few that excludes it, along with every entry fee.

Budget for the toilets too. Some on the way down ask for about IDR 5,000, and the changing rooms by the pool work the same way. A few IDR 2,000 and 5,000 notes save you waiting for change.

Do children pay the entrance fee at Tegenungan?

Yes: IDR 15,000 for children aged 5 to 9. Children pay at the other Ubud gates as well, so a family day costs more than the waterfall ticket suggests.

The child prices you will meet on a typical loop:

  • Tegenungan: IDR 15,000 (ages 5 to 9).
  • Sacred Monkey Forest: IDR 100,000 for ages 3 to 12, free under 3.
  • Tirta Empul: IDR 50,000, free under 5.

Tour age bands vary just as much. The jungle swing day counts children as 4 to 8 and charges adult rates from 9. The three-waterfall day takes children from 7 and lists adults up to 65, with moderate fitness. The private Ubud tour counts children as 4 to 11. Check the band before you assume a child rate.

What is the Blangsinga side, and does it cost extra?

It is the east bank of the Petanu River, in Saba village, with its own entrance and its own ticket. Bali Holiday Secrets puts it at IDR 30,000 as well.

Most visitors and every tour on this site use the Kemenuh entrance on the west bank, where the classic view and the steps to the pool are. Blangsinga looks at the falls from the other side and is quieter. The Bali Guideline points families with kids towards it: the D'Tukad River Club there has hanging nests, swings and river views, with a minimum spend of its own.

A ticket for one side does not open the other. If you want both banks, the Bali Glass Bridge links the two villages about 40 m above the river, at around IDR 250,000 per adult. It closes in rain. We'd skip it unless you have a head for heights and money to spare.

Is the entrance fee included in a Tegenungan tour?

Only on the inclusive options. The cheapest from-prices are usually transport only, and then you pay every gate in cash.

Read the option name, not the headline price. On Viator the Tegenungan stop on some itineraries says "free admission". That is a stop label, not a free ticket: the IDR 30,000 is covered only if you book the inclusive option. Here is what each tour covers:

What other gate fees will you pay on an Ubud day?

About IDR 260,000 to 275,000 per adult for the classic loop of Tegenungan, the Monkey Forest, Tegallalang and Tirta Empul. A swing adds IDR 250,000 or more.

These are the 2026 gate prices at the stops these tours use:

Is the Bali tourist levy included in tour prices?

No. The levy of IDR 150,000 per foreign visitor is paid once per entry into Bali, online or at payment points, and no tour includes it.

The levy has applied since 14 February 2024 and is still IDR 150,000 in 2026, about $9. You pay it through Love Bali on the web or the app, or at payment points on arrival. It has nothing to do with the waterfall ticket or the "all fees and taxes" line on a tour listing: those taxes are local ones.

Compliance is low. Only about a third of the 7.0 million foreign visitors in 2025 paid it, and the governor publicly urged the rest in May 2026. Pay it before you fly and keep the QR code. The levy post has the how-to.

What does a couple really pay for a Tegenungan day?

More per head than the from-price. Viator prices these private tours in tiers by group size, and the advertised figure is the cheapest tier, for the largest group.

Two people in a private car pay a higher per-person rate than six. Viator shows the real figure only after you choose the date, the option and the number of travellers. Plan with these three numbers:

  • The tour: more than the from-price per head. The private Ubud tour starts at $38 for the largest group on Transport Only; a couple pays more each.
  • The gates, on Transport Only: about IDR 520,000 to 550,000 for two, roughly $32 to $34 in cash, plus lunch.
  • The levy: IDR 300,000 for two, paid once.

An all-fees tour like the jungle swing day looks dear at $59, but the swing alone costs IDR 250,000 or more on site. Compare like with like at checkout: the Transport Only price for two, plus about IDR 520,000 in gates, plus IDR 500,000 or more for two swings, against the inclusive price Viator quotes for two. Without the swing, Transport Only plus your own rupiah is usually the leaner deal.

How much cash should I bring for an Ubud day tour?

No. Blangsinga, on the east bank, has its own entrance and its own ticket, about IDR 30,000.
